The activity
A half day of sport climbing at Forte do Cavalo, also called Sesimbra Velha, next to the old fort and the Cavalo lighthouse just west of Sesimbra town.
The crag has about 75 bolted routes right above the sea. We base the day in Portugal dos Pequeninos, the most popular sector, with routes of around 14 m. You climb on top-rope, with the guide setting every anchor and checking every belay.
Good for beginners with some sporting background and for people who already climb. Pair it with the Pinheirinhos via ferrata, a few minutes away, for a full day in Sesimbra.

Minimum 2 participants per departure. In summer we climb in the late afternoon, and we reschedule in strong wind, big swell or rain.

What to bring
- Shoes: trainers for the walk in (climbing shoes are provided).
- Clothes: comfortable sports clothing that lets you move freely.
- Water: 1 to 1.5 L and a snack.
- Sun: sunscreen, sunglasses and a cap.
- Backpack: a small one.
